Auditory-verbal therapy (AVT)

AVT is a method for teaching deaf children to listen and speak using their residual hearing in addition to the constant use of amplification devices such as hearing aids and Cochlear Implants.

Free-field Aided Test

This free-field aided test is performed with the patient putting on his/her hearing aids or implant devices and sitting in a soundproof booth with the test signals delivered through speakers.

Auditory Steady State Response (ASSR) is an objective test used for evaluation of hearing ability in children too young for traditional audiometric testing.

The ABR test is a helpful tool in determining a child's ability to hear. The test uses a special computer to measure the way the child's hearing nerve responds to different sounds.

The OAE test is often part of a newborn hearing screening program. This test can detect blockage in the outer ear canal, as well as the presence of middle ear fluid and damage to the outer hair cells.
